And yes, this oxymoron is something which I love and can be termed as Nihilistic Optimism, haha! Irrespective of the philosophy or your beliefs of religion, this is something which can be perceived by everyone and has always been a part of history be it in terms of philosophy or various spiritual and religious scriptures. Now, Nihilism doesn’t have any adverse effects on the world, if you have a correct mindset to agree with the truths and understand them. Please do not be delusional, and embrace the Dynamic Unity and oneness of the universe. ![]() Hinduism is not about infinite gods, idol-worshipping, illogical rituals and superstitions, but has a very tranquilizing depth and philosophical meaning to it. This Kumbh Mela tragedy is just a biological COVID-19 explosion that has already happened and will have repercussions all over India. But, do you realize what this is actually resulting into? The exact opposite outcome of what everyone is praying for! Of course, most people do these things or rituals so as to wish better for everything, and might have true positive intentions behind it. This leads people to become ‘god-fearing’, to follow random superstitions and traditions which originated eons back with understanding with the true purpose of these would have genuinely been. A formal fellow person, who is not strong enough to embrace the universal truths however dark and scary these facts are tends to surrender oneself to various unknown beliefs and illogically incorrect statements just to have a little mental peace to battle this existential dread of being alive. The current scenario in India, specifically the Kumbh Mela and the so-called miraculous ‘shahi snan’ to rinse off the sins and rejuvenate oneself, during the outbreak of a pandemic is in short just being braindead. People start panicking during dire situations by starting to pray tirelessly, chanting whatever they can get their hands on, blindly indulging in hilariously blatant superstitions, ultimately resulting in no concrete action which actually might affect/change the situation! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Not intervening in personal religious beliefs or philosophies at this moment (one is free to accept any religion or spiritual theory), but is your omnipresent and omniscient “god” or whatever you want to call this, going to change the outcome which is easily foreseeable to you?! ![]() (God is with us always to protect us and does everything for the welfare of the world)”. I can elucidate on this with a few common examples and phrases we frequently encounter casually for better understanding. I’d like to coin a term which I like to call ‘Delusional Optimism’, which has always been practiced since maybe humanity was capable enough to think, communicate and form societies, but has specifically flourished in terms of its spread in these recent times.īlind biased faith and hope in the positive outcome of any situation, irrespective of the severity of the scenario at hand, by neglecting logic, science, endurance, and needed-action on the subject to advocate ignorance of the truth for the sake of a deluded psychological feeling. And, the worst part is that this is ubiquitous even among the so-called “well-educated” people. This has put our close family members, friends, and loved ones in fatal situations (personally my father, brother, grandfather, and uncle). ![]() This might not always be beneficial, but even detrimental. ![]() During these trying times where deaths are something as casual as mere numbers in the news mostly due to of course COVID-19 but maybe also because of stress and suicides people have restored to various philosophies or rather I’d say distractions, to cope with this lack of positive atmosphere around. This pandemic has affected the overall scenario, straight from physical lifestyle, economic/financial wellbeing, and most importantly the psychological temperament of each individual globally.
